1. Are there any requirements to join Measures of Joy? Musicians are encouraged to be no older than high school seniors, and should have some sort of background experience with music; instrumental or vocal. Parents are welcome to help out as well, but we are primarily looking for children and teens as our musicians.
2. I can't play an instrument or sing. Can I still be a part of Measures of Joy? Although we do prefer members to have some sort of musical background, you can still join if you do not. You can help out at our events and concerts. We also need help printing programs and getting the word out to the community.
3. I’m interested, who should I contact? Please email us at [email protected].
4. Can I get community service hours? Yes, if you have participate at one of our events, then please contact us and we will provide you with the necessary documentation. Or, if your school has a pre-existing volunteer program, you can bring a volunteer form to be signed after the event. Also, if you are interested in earning the President's Volunteer Service Award, you may register us as your Certifying Organization. Please contact us for more information regarding this subject.
5. Can I start my own branch of Measures of Joy? We are currently only building more branches through personal connections. However, please consider joining one of our existing branches, located either in the Bay Area, California; Chicago, Illinois; Houston, Texas; or Murcia, Spain.
