Measures of Joy, a not-for-profit organization, was founded in late 2011. We strive to spread joy across communities through music concerts and performances held at retirement homes, senior housing communities, schools, and soon, hospitals, and orphanages. We have performed at various locations such as Aegis Living, Atria Senior Living, Satellite Housing, Blue Shield of California, and the University of Murcia in Spain. We have had over 40 concerts and have performed for more than 200 seniors.
Our fifty members range in ages, abilities, and instruments, from five-year-old singers to college violinists. Measures of Joy is rapidly expanding both nationally and internationally. After the organization was founded in California in October 2011, a Texas (U.S.A.) branch formed in February 2012, a Murcia (Spain) branch in June 2012, and most recently, an Illinois (U.S.A.) branch formed in November 2012.
Measures of Joy is also an Official Certifying Organization for the President's Volunteer Service Awards program.
